Would you believe I was surfing the forums for an answer to this very question!

I've seen plenty of surround speaker stands but quite frankly are not going to be large enough to copy with the likes of KEF Q15's or AE100's.

Has anyone seen any solutions on their travels or can suggest a suitable alternative? Don't mind modifying something to make it work!

    Thanks in advance...

Seen one solution: 200mm speaker stands from Apollo, available with different top plate sizes. It'll look a bit mad on a desk but it'll do the trick!

IKEA used to do small stands that go on the floor and tilt the speakers back a little. Worth checking because I'm sure they were cheap.

Can't see any on the Ikea webschite. A can only find satellite floor stands with concrete bases.

    Thanks for the pointer anyway.

I bought a pair a few years back from Richer Sounds. Same sized top platform as their normal 50-quid bookshelf stands, with a base the same thickness and not much larger than the top platform, all approx 10 inches high. Check in-store, as it's not ones on their web site.
    HTH.

I've got a pair about 17 inches high just gathering dust. You're welcome to them if they're any use to you, as long as you pay the postage which shouldn't be a lot. Perhaps you can shorten them easily.
Anyway send a pm if interested.

    regards cwuk

Thanks, that's very generous of you. I'm going to say no on the basis that 17" high stands on my desk would make the monitors reach over half way to the ceiling!

Apparently Apollo do stands that go down to a height of 200mm, definitely seen them in the brochure at my local Sevenoaks, but can't find them on their webschite. Best order them and see what the outcome is!

    Cheers ;)

Got the Apollo stands as above. They're a little on the large side, even for a 1600X800 desk, but they raise the speakers to a perfect height. I have ceramic discs for the spikes so they can be used to help reduce unwanted vibration and resonance.
