I've moved into a house that had surround sound in before and all the wiring behind the walls ready. However the rear speaker wiring doesn't have any connectors on. How would I connect speakers up?
I know nothing about speakers/wiring or anything. FYI!

Easiest way is to connect the bare wires directly to the speaker terminals, one wire to red and the other to black. You will need to look for some kind of marker on one of the wires so that you get the polarity right at the source (amp?) end.

On the cables there are + and - markings. Just connect the + to Red and - to Black on your AV kit and speakers.

Wow, that is some good eyesight. Thanks! It's just that it's bare wires, no end piece/connecter. Maybe when I get some speakers and see what they're like it'll make sense.

You could get some Banana Plugs to make life easier when it comes to connecting it all up.

Depends on the speakers though... cheaper ones tend to have the push-click type fittings. In fact, I have some Kef T301s and T101s that won't take banana plugs either.

Yeh they will be cheap ones too. I'm looking at sub £300. Not that I've chosen any. I'm picky! I want Bluetooth, tall front speakers and little wall rear speakers, and to make sure I can easily get the sound through tv and Xbox. And now I need to make sure they can take banana plugs!!! The search is on!

So I bought some speakers but I can't connect them. The speakers have fixed wires. See pic for connection. Is there an easy way this can work?

What speakers are they (can make out Samsung) as the connector looks like one you'd plug into a specific unit?

I think that's the best option. Ideally you want some speakers with proper binding posts and then you can use those banana plugs. :)

I purchased the 2 pair of dedicated stands for fronts and rears on the KEF-T105 speaker set up..the stands allow for banana plugs[emoji106].
