I'm upgrading my old Videologic Digitheatre to a new A/V system. Im probably getting the Yamaha 450 amp and after days of scouring the internet & this forum have decided on 2 sets of speakers but am not sure which one to go for:

Mordaunt Short Premiere Plus - Was my first choice & everyone says its a great setup - £379

    http://www.hificonfidential.co.uk/moreinfo.cfm?id=1160

(picture shows the older non-plus one but it is definitely the plus)

    or...

Celestion AVP305 - I wasnt going to go for this as it was too expensive until I saw this and they will look awesome in my living room - £399

    http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/creativeaudio/celestionAVP305.htm

An absolutely awesome deal. I am leaning towards the Celestion as they get great reviews as well, are usually mroe expensive & at such a great price (plus it comes with free speaker cable!!)

I have ruled out the Mission Cinema M30 pack in favour of the MS Premiere Plus but not 100% sure which to go for.
Don't suggest any others as I have spent days getting down to these 2 & it might send my to the psycho ward!

Anyone have any ideas or comments?

Actually just found out that Creative Audio dont do the Celestions anymore so it looks like my mind has been made up.

I presume everyone thinks the MS Premiere Plus is better than the Mission Cinema M30 pack?

I like the larger speakers of the Mission but reviews seem to suggest the MS is a better all-rounder

I have the MS premier, al be it the marantz badged version. They are very good, I have a denon 2805 driving them and purchased another surround to give me 6.1

All seems to work well. I think the Plus system has the better sub though.

Have you considered importing a set of Canton CD1's from Germany?

Search for the extensive thread in this forum.

    Very very very good value.

what about a used set of keff eggs, they will easily out perform the 2 sets you are looking at.

I dont fancy the Cantons as I have read several average reviews of them.

123orth, I presume the Celestions were only in store & not on their website.
I will check with their London store (nearest one to me but still a long way away) - maybe I can order over the phone & they will deliver.

there is a thread going re monitor audio radius though they are much more expensive
even a set of R90s with their own sub is around 900 mark
