What's the do's and don'ts with this. Is it like HDMI cables?

    1.5mm, 2.5mm, 4mm, 42 strand, 79 strand etc. etc.!

I've got 2x 12m runs and 3x 2m runs. Onkyo 606 receiver and Canton Movie 100 speaker set.

    Thanks

‘Is it like HDMI cables?’ – no, quite different requirements.

With loudspeaker cable you are looking for the optimum cross section of decent quality copper to match the power delivery of the amp and the distance to the loudspeakers.

A 2x1.5mm or 2x2.5mm will do the trick for you – have a look at the VanDamme Blue series for a decant quality cable without breaking the bank.
