I used to have a Panasonic 28in 4/3 TV with built in Dolby Pro Logic and two rear surround sound speakers. I had the speaker wires buried into the wall and under a bedroom floorboards so they came out of the ceiling where I wanted them. The Panasonic speakers that were attached had a rating of 8 ohms and 15W. Now the Panny TV has gone and so have the speakers.

I've replaced the speakers with a Toshiba SD-44HK home cinema system. Now these speakers are rated at 8 ohms but 60W.

    The question is:

Is it wise/safe to hook the speakers up using the Panasoic cables I already have built into the room?

    or ...

Should I stop now and wait until I have had the Toshiba supplied cables put into the wall?

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but I wouldn't want to do something that isn't safe.

    Thanks in advance

    Andrew
