hey people, i have had a slight change of mind and now am will be building up my system slowly.

I have around the £600 mark to spend on a pair of floor standers and an amp to run them. I may upgrade to a 5.1 system on a later date. Im not sure if i should get a stereo amp or a 5.1 amp. would the floorstanders im thinking of gettin sound the same with both a stereo and 5.1 amp??

Im thinking of getting

Mission M35i speakersMission M35i

and a

nad amp

would this be a best combo i can get for my budget?

Does any1 have any other combo's i can use togeather or any opinions on the two i have chosen? what would be good for tv listening, movies and music ???

thanks in advance :)

The nad amp is reputedly a very good stereo amp.

What you really need to decide is if you want to go 5.1 now or later. Then if your going to go 5.1 later are you going to add a av amp to your stereo amp or replace the stereo amp altogether.

hey thanks for the quick reply. If i were to get a av amp now instead of a stereo amp, would an av amp be able to power the speakers like the Nad stero amp?

any recomendations for an AV amp, budget of around £300 ??

NOt exactly sure what you mean so:

I would say for a budget of £300 the av amp will sound poor in stereo vs your Nad amp. To get to the same (stereo) heights of the Nad your either looking at buying a Nad av amp or something like the Yamaha 2500/2600/4600, Marantz SR 7500/8500, Denon 3805 or Arcam 250/300. All are £600+ amps (Arcam 300 is £1300).

Hope that answers your question :D
