I'm looking for a copy of Spartacus and noticed a big difference in price between the standard Region 2 version and the Criterion edition. Looks like Play are doing the Region 2 for £7.99 but the cheapest I can find the Criterion is around the £25 mark from the USA or Canada (plus duty on arrival ?) or £30 from Play.

Is there a big difference in picture and sound quality between these versions ? As its such an old film I wouldn't have thought there would be much of a difference between the DD5.1 of the R2 and the DTS on the Criterion. I'm not overly concerned about the extras so really its down to picture quality.

    Anybody compare versions ?

Criterion without a shadow of a doubt. Excellent transfer and sound and the extras make this a must have IMO.

    This is pretty sad.
And wouldn't someone who works for Nike know that it's a 'swoosh' (yuk!), not a 'swish'?
