Space X launch Saturday 30th May 20:22

Weren't the astronauts going to name the capsule on launch day?

I missed it myself but yes they named it Endeavour - from BBC:

Earlier, Hurley and Behnken named their Dragon ship in the time-honoured tradition of US spacefarers. They called it "Endeavour", in part to celebrate the new course being set by Nasa and its commercial partners, but also to acknowledge the past contribution to American space efforts by Shuttle Endeavour, on which both Hurley and Behnken served in the late 2000s.

Thanks, I did finally get that today but, like you, missed the announcement.

Bit of a lack of imagination, I love the SpaceX naming of the barges.

Should be undocking for the return journey an hour from now.

Mission Control looks very generic - it could almost be a normal office! Where are the custom consoles, staged seating and gravitas from the Apollo era!

5 minutes until the second crewed Dragon launch.

Looks like a flawless launch and successful drone ship landing for the booster, they make it look so easy.

Could you give me a bit more notice next time. I missed the first 90sec. ;)

lists all the launches as you might expect 🤣🤣😆

9pm re-attempt at 12.5km Starship test flight.

3 mins and 1.5 hours ;)

Was on the edge of my seat last night with 1 second to go before poof.
And tonight 2 mins and almost poof. suspected plane or boat in the area.
10:40pm I think is our new target in the UK.
later than that, and I'm off to bed!

Annoying isn’t it, oh well can play Xbox for an hour then see what happens.

Gut feeling, it's going to get off the pad, go up ok, but when it's falling, and they try to deploy the flaps, the welds will break on the rings as the forces will then be sideways on, not directly up and down, and it will be detonated before it hits the ground.

Please note: I 100% hope I'm wrong and it nails it. :)

It's just there has been no real world tests yet on what will happen when a LOT of force is acting on it's sideways.

None of this matters as SN9 is waiting and ready to go, so it's really just a data gathering test.
It's scrap either way even if it does land well.

Well, while we're on the subject of flaps, rings, and it going up OK and nailing it, then I've noticed this one has considerably more girth than the other one.

It's all going to be over extremely quickly and probably a bang.
Reminds me of things I'd rather forget!
