It's old but I would recommend Freelancer - should be able to get it very cheap. Also has multiplayer mode aswell.

Still waiting for Elite 4....

I will Second that it was probably my most played game of all time.

Created my own lan game (Not so lonely as time seems to pass so ******* quick) and spent over 1,000 hours on there I got the best ship ****** off pretty mych every faction (Not every one cause you wouldnt able to get more ammo lol).

Plus there are some sweet mods like piloting the voyager starship hehehe.

Demo Here :)

hey I got a question how the hell do you guys put a link in a reply and are able to have it built into a word like "Here"

Size = 147MB

And Ill 3rd it.

Freelancer is a sweet space game as I've just said in another thread.

Spent a huge amount of time on it, and as above a great selection of mods available.

X3 is supposed to be highly recommended. I bought the game, but never played it. I didn't have the time and it looked complicated. I did install it onto my pc and the graphics looked lovely. No idea about gameplay though...

Hmm ...

Freelancer is a forgotten classic, im kind of hoping that M$ do a sequel someday... I would definately recommend getting a copy.

X3 is certainly complicated, almost to the extreme, and will put off most people tbh. I still play it occasionaly, but you do have to put some serious amount of hours into the game to get anything out of it.

Elite 2 is still the best though, even with all its bugs its a pretty good game. If only someone updated it with a better engine. You wont see Elite 4 much before the next decade I wouldnt have thought.
