Sp466lx + Ysp-1

Hello,
I am looking at getting the Sammy and the YSP-1. What I am after if anyone with the Sammy could give me the dimensions of the TV stand, and would the YSP-1 fit this? I believe the YSP-1 is just over 1100 mm long but I am not sure about this (it fits under most 42" plasma's with nothing protuding at each end).
TIA

I presume by length that you mean the width.

In that case it isn't going to fit. Width of set (and stand) is 1080mm. Don't forget, that unlike most plasmas there are no side speakers, hence the narrower width.

Subtract a couple of cms for the sides of the stand and that brings the shelf space down to about 1040mm wide.

Thanks Pauley,
I have just confirmed the size of the YSP-1 on the net and it is 194x1030x118 mm, so it looks like it could just fit, and yes I did mean width. Thanks for the dimensions.

That 1040mm is just an estimate. I haven't unpacked my Samsung support as I have the set on another shelving unit.

Check it for definite with someone else that owns the SP46 or measure up in store. Also bear in mind that the sides of the shelf angle inwards as they go back so that the shelf is much narrower at the back than it is at the front. You need to bear this in mind too.

Also the stand tapers off at the back. You might try and make a flat cardboard template of the footprint of the YSP and take into a store which is demoing the SP46.

I've just had a look at the Yamaha website and they list a new model, the YSP-800 which is only 800mm wide so this may fair better for you.

Thanks for the info Pauley, neilmcl,
yes I have seen the dimensions of the YSP-800 as well not sure if it is better spec'ed or not I will have to look into this. In the meantime does any Sammy 46 owners using the supplied stand have the dimensions I require please.
Thanks

I had a quick look on the net and I think the YSP-800 is slightly lower spec'd in terms of output but it has some newer features than the YSP-1, also it retails around £300 cheaper online.
