Can anyone recommend a decent AV shop in the Southampton/central South Coast area? I am looking for somewhere that stocks mid-high end gear and will offer the opportunity to demo products (in store). I am specifically thinking of speakers/integrated receiver as I intend to upgrade these soon (and it's been around 4 years since I last had to demo/upgrade - the thought of the rewiring has made me delay as long as possible  ). And if it's one that sells gear below the RRP without too much haggling it would be appreciated as well :)

If you can get up to Guildford then PJ Hifi are good. Probably about 45mins to an hour from where you are. :smashin:

In Southampton there are Sevenoaks and Phase 3 Hi-fi in London Road and Bedford Place respectively. For completeness, Bang & Olufsen of Southampton is opposite Phase 3! :smashin:

There are also Audio T shops in Chandler's Ford and Portsmouth and another Bang & Olufsen shop in Chichester. :D

Excellent, thanks for the replies guys.

I own a house quite near to Guildford (Purbright) so might give them a try.

Cheers - I knew about Sevenoaks but not about Phase 3 and B&O - I should have investigated London Road before asking I suppose! Considering I live within 200 yds of Bargate I should have known about that really

Hi Ras, sorry to go off topic here, but can you tell me how you do that.
Put two or more quotes in one reply I mean.

    Thanks - Steve

Audio T in Chandlers Ford are pretty good, they normally sell me stuff for less than MRP.

Well I'm biased but I think that PJ have the best home theatre demo room I've heard or seen in the UK....not only that they are forum sponsors and they helped do EVENT2 with me....It might look like a little shop from the front but inside they have some great staff and some great gear.

ps. used to go shooting at Bisley every summer....just around from Pirbright.....I think I may have had bought my first pint of beer at The Cricketers on the green at Pirbright...at least I think it was Pirbright....
