Hi I have been checking the website of this company and they have some decent deals but I cant find any reviews of the company. Anyone heard/dealt with them?

thanks

Looks like a very new company (Ledverse Ltd have only existed since June this year) which always sets alarm bells ringing. Other red flags for me would be that there is no 'about us' section on their website describing their business, the FAQ link is a dead one and (as you say) there are no reviews online about the company.

Their shipping policy says "We ship items out as soon as we get them from the sellers, but this will not be the same day as your order. In general, you will receive your item within the following shipping time frame ( 5-8 business days)" so it doesn't sound like they actually stock any products themselves. I'm no business expert but would this make them some kind of reseller rather than an online retailer ? They share the same address as a bar called 'Curve Bar' (different postcode though) and (looking at Google street view) don't appear to have a high-street shop presence.

They are currently advertising the 42" LG C2 OLED for £662.90, when John Lewis and Richer Sounds are selling it for £999 in which case I would suspect it's a case of "If it looks too good to be true...?"

It would be a no from me !

thanks for your reply....i managed to live chat with one of the guys at sounders as I enquired about a marantz 1711 he confirmed what you just said about it being a new company and they have many satisfied customers but unfortunately no reviews...I notice they take amex so if I did buy I would think I would be covered if the goods did not turn up....not sure?

They appear to be one of those companies who act as a middleman - no stock at all and is presumably one man on a laptop. The address for the company is a Myco works coworking apace.

I don't know whether you'd be covered paying by credit card or not I'm afraid. A credit card company might be able to step in if you're having problems with a legitimate company but I can't see them being able to do much if you were to be scammed.

It must be tough for genuine, new businesses to get off the ground these days and I guess they have to start somewhere but, with no proof that the business is legit (and not so much as a high-street store to check out), I personally wouldn't take the risk.

You've also got to ask yourself where this gear is coming from, if they can get hold of it and sell it to you at 2/3 the cost of a cheap online retailer and still make a decent profit ?

not sure where its coming from they just said the receiver i want is in stock and they are a registered drop ship company

avjon's presumption sounds right then - it'll be someone sat on a laptop, buying from somewhere else and selling it on to you. As they're a drop-ship company, they won't carry any stock themselves.

I would imagine there's a good chance you'll get no consumer protection or after-sales service in case anything goes wrong and, depending on which country the product is sourced from (it won't be the UK), you may not even get a manufacturer's warranty you can actually claim on.

It's not something I would ever consider as the risks are far too great.

Does seem very fishy.

The Sounders website gives an address in Princes Street, Ipswich, but the phone number is not an Ipswich one, it is for Brentwood in Essex.

I am in Ipswich and it's not a company I've heard of. I then googled that same Princes Street address and that links to a different company OneElectro (Which I've also not heard of) with a different company number, and with only a mobile number for contact.

It is not real they tried to get me posing as usps company asking for credit card and ssn# then wanting you banking information.

Hi All,
Just to let you know that I took a risk and purchased a pair of Dali Oberon 5 speakers and just received them today.....ABSOLUTELY FINE. The order took 3 days (yes they sent an email when order was placed to say expect delivery 8-12 working days). DPU delivered on time, NO damage, speakers 100% perfect.....ALL legit, basically I'm VERY HAPPY with the service and product.

Thanks for signing up half an hour ago to confirm this dubious company is legit ;)

Website looks like your typical quick-setup scam. What's a "Reg. number"? VAT? Why not just say that? Either way, the number isn't recognised by the UK GOV website where you can check VAT-registered businesses, so yeah, I'd avoid.

Edit: Okay, Richer Sounds refer to it as a Registered Number on their site, and theirs didn't work on the UK Gov site... Further details on this company

Run by one guy. Maybe he has access to a limited amount of items, whether they're grey imports or not, who knows. The T&C page is pretty much nonsense with nothing relating to UK Consumer Law or the actual contract between the retailer and the customer, they've got identical products listed at different prices (this and this), they don't have a working stock system so you can order 99,999 of anything, their shipping and returns page looks to have been copy-pasted from a non-native English source...

Ordered a LG C2 42" from them yesterday. Says 8-12 days delivery time so ill update then. Paid with a credit card so should be covered if its a scam.

I must admit I was anxious before placing my order, like other members on this thread I tried to find out more information and customer feedback. ....but couldn't find any. It WAS a punt / gamble to place the order, but as I say ALL is GOOD... (thankfully).
I'm not sure how the company operates, the speakers I ordered come in 4 different finishes, the only one advertised WAS the one I wanted (Ash Black). Maybe this company specialises in "overstock" / "liquidated" companies hence the random stock?.
I can only pass on my experience, which I thought was necessary, hopefully others will join in and provide positive feedback.... (or not ).
Cheers

There's no need to speculate on how the company operates as they've admitted to the OP that they're a dropship company. There's nothing inherently wrong with dropshipping as such, but there's a chance of getting scammed compared with buying from an established, highstreet or online retail store. As this article says, 'dropshipping is not a scam but scammers are using dropshipping' so you need to be careful and understand the risks involved.

If you're not sure what dropshipping is, that article explains it pretty well...

"A merchant that uses dropshipping is just a middleman. You place an order with that merchant, but another company—a manufacturer, retailer, or wholesaler—ships you the product. The merchant takes his cut and never has to handle the inventory. This technique has been widely used for decades by most legitimate businesses to cut down on storing inventory in multiple locations and ship things to the customer more quickly.

The problem is that these days dropshipping is often used as part of an online get-rich-quick scheme. All you need is a website and some social media advertising, and you can sell people products from your online store. You don’t have to keep anything in stock or make anything because someone else manufactures, stores, and ships the actual product.

Let’s say a factory in China is selling widgets for $3 each. A drop shipper can set up a website and social media campaign that advertise and sell these amazing, high-quality widgets for $15 each. The drop shipper might never even handle the widget herself and have no clue about their actual quality.

Whenever an order arrives on the website, the drop shipper purchases a $3 widget and the manufacturer then sends the product to the customer. The drop shipper pockets the extra $12."

One other thing - if the prices look attractive, then bear in mind the delivery terms state that they don't include import fees so you'll presumably need to add 20% VAT on top of many of these products for starters if they're being imported, which is quite likely as importing will be the only way a dropshipper can make money operating a business like that here in the UK by selling electronics at such low prices. Extra-long delivery times are also an indication that these products will be imports.

Ordered Sony surround sound 16 days ago. Received an invoice and went through standard banking approval security to authenticate when making the purchase.

No purchase arrived after a week so I emailed and they said it would be posted that weekend. Another week passed and I gave the ultimatum to either provide goods or a refund in 48 hours.

All comms were in email format and they actually answered the phone when I contacted the landline number provided within the invoice.

In the end, I asked for a refund and they provided it back to my credit card.

I can see why people would be concerned though. I’m just relieved to get my money back….

Ordered XGIMI Aura projector on 6/10. Got email back saying delivery about 8/12 Business days. So hopefully should get purchase by 26/10. Will let you know how it goes 😱

Paid Using Rapyd Payment.

Thanks for that Mr Tight Git, but really not that strange. I joined to give my contribution to the discussion. I must admit that I am bricking it as there is a good chance I’ve been scammed out of £1749.30! If that’s the case then shame on me. It will have been an expensive learning experience. But either way I‘d like to share my experience if I may Mr Tight Git (Distinguished Member).

Everyone is/was a new member at some stage, but I don’t blame you for being cynical.

Based in Ipswich, but have a telephone with a Canterbury area code. Seems a bit iffy to me.
