Machine is a Dell 5820 with 32GB RAM, Win 10, 3.6Ghz Intel.

Hope this post is in the right place as not easy to find the right one.

I have a SoundBlaster SBZ that has worked well up until a few days ago when I installed the most recent Win 10 update without any resulting problems until...

... I selected the SBZ Command icon that initially resides in the tray, selecting it loads the Command interface. Or did, it now just vanishes as it has crashed trying to load it !

I have confirmed this multiple times. Uninstalled/Reinstalled the SBZ software several times. I tried uninstalling the windows update but no effected after restarting. Also installed a very recent Creative software update that came up as a notification.

I have now resurrected a system backup from the day before and all is back to normal again. The Events log records the following each time and there are two crashes not just one;

I have seen posts on other errors from this MS update, has anyone any ideas on this specific one? Just to be sure I updated the latest working one again but same problem exists.

Windows updates are now disabled until I can solve this.

Thanks in advance for any help.

The SBZ command app is known to have bugs with windows update, you can look over on soundblaster reddit for plenty of examples.

One of the common causes with SBZ command is its GPU accelerated and can have issues with some intel display drivers, are you using Intel GPU ?
