    Hi,
    simple question:

Soundblaster USB MP3+ is stereo soundcard but it has optical digital out. Can it output bitstream from DVD too? (from computer's internal DVD player) On Creative's site there is note about AC3 etc but I am not sure about it. Any proffessionals here?

If not what simple USB card would be best to do this task? It has to be optical.

Or do I need audigy 2 zs for that?

    Thanks.

I don't have one of these but it I expect it should be possible. Look in your DVD player software for an an audio output option such as "S/PDIF" or "Pass-through" which will cause it dump the AC3 stream out via this port without trying to decode.

I'm not sure of the software that comes with it, with my Audigy 1 there'as an "AC3 Decode" option in the Surround Mixer that has to be un-set to stop decoding.
