Question Soundbar recommendations <£400 (LG Sj9?)

Hi all,

Looking to pick up a soundbar to compliment my LG C8 with a budget of £400 ide say viewing habits are 60% Gaming and 40% Tv shows and films.

The Living Room is 12ft x 12ft.

I can get a LG SJ9 for £250 which will sit flush with my TV.

SJ8 is out of the question after reading all the issues people are having on this forum.

Also looked at the sonos beam but seems like abit of a waste for me as I won't take advantage of the multiroom system plus the cost of a sub is off putting if Im not happy with the bass the beam provides.

Is the SJ9 worth it at that price or should I be looking at something else.

Thanks

Hi, I’ve been looking at soundbars myself for my LG B7 and was thinking of the SJ8 also but that is a no go for the exact reason you mention. The SJ9 looks decent, if a tad old now as its been replaced by the SK9Y I beleive. But the price of that one is prohibitive to me. Where can the SJ9 be had for £250 though? I’d jump on it at that price personally as that would be my max budget anyway.

The SK9 is identical to the SJ9, bar the slightly darker colour on the K9 and full chrome cast support.

Yeah I’m aware they looks the same but there are differences as you’ve mentiond, hence why SK9Y has a slightly different model number and is the newer version replacing the prev model.

Hey mate, you had any progress on the sound bar situation? Was wondering if you'd share where you were getting the LG SJ9 at such a competitive price? Was it online somewhere? Or was it a private sale. I'm really hoping to pick up a sound bar soon but still undecided on which one, mainly due to budget. I want more than I can afford! lol

Sorry for the lack of updates, the sj9 deal was from my local RS which I missed out on after a deal on here for a sonos beam fell through.

I ended up going for a Samsung ms650 which I wasn't to pleased with so sent that back and demo'd a few other soundbar in shop but wasn't impressed with any of them really.

So I thought screw it I've gone back to separates got a good deal on some q acoustic 2050i and a yamaha rxv485. It's abit to over kill for my current living room but will be more than enough to fill the house I have my eye on once I save the last 1k for my mortgage.
