Hi everyone.I have just purchased a cheap Hitachi axs014btu soundbar which is connected via an optical cable direct to my 50inch plasma lg tv.However after 15mins use the soundbar will go into eco/standby mode due to the volume been too low or inactive. To stop this i have to use the remote before the 15mins to either turn up or turn down the volume.Surely soundbars are not meant to do this if they are outputting audio? Any ideas as to what is happening? Any help would be more than welcome.Regards Rich.

Sounds similar to what my Turtle Beach headphones do (optical connection). They turn off after five minutes if they don't detect a signal, but they also do this when there is sound, but you have the volume too low.

What is happening is supposed to happen according to the user manual. It's designed to switch to standby after 15 mins if the volume is too low or close to mute.
It's just a daft "feature"
Take it back and buy a different brand.
Currys have a Logik L32SBT15 soundbar for around £39 odd which is good value.
