One of the built-in speakers in my TV is wonky. If I plug in a SoundBar to the TV will this close the in-built speakers as happens when plugging in headphones? I am contemplating this as an alternative to having to buy a new TV.

    Thanks, Ian

You need to say what make and model your TV is. The menu on your TV may have an option to turn your built in speakers off.

    But yes,

if you use the 3.5mm jack for the soundbar connection it will behave like headphones......
