Does anyone do this and will it notably impact sound?

Thinking of buying the below from IKEA,

FJÄLLBO TV bench Black 150 x 36 x 54 cm - IKEA

I have a large JBL soundbar and need a TV stand with a wide top shelf, which seem to be like gold dust! Hoping with the mesh it won't impede sound.

Thanks for any advice

You should be ok for the most part, just make sure the drivers on the soundbar are not facing towards the thicker closed off section of that mesh door lining.

Thanks for the responses. Gives me some comfort that it's worth a go. It's a JBL SB200. It's a chunky thing so needs a lot of space, I quite like the idea of hiding it behind a mesh panel as it's not the prettiest of sound bars.

As Aryn86 says it will all depend on where the metal work sits relative to the drivers in the Soundbar - you could find the drivers are pointing straight into the metal uprights.
