Sound

I'm a real rookie in need of some hand holding help at the moment. I have recently re-installed windows xp on my pc, and everything is fine except I don't have any sound. Looking in my system devices it appears no driver is installed. The problem is, I'm not sure I'm looking right. I don't even know what sound card I have. Help!!!

Look in your system, hardware, device manager tab.

Look under sounds to see if you have a sound card there, or look for any hardware that doesn't have a driver on it.

If you run Windoze update it should detect what sound card you have and install the appropriate drivers.

If all else fails you can look in your pc for the sound card. See what it says on the actual card.
