sound quality

    i want to extend the cable for my rear surround speakers ,if i tighten the ends ,will it interfere in sound quality? thanks

    Do you mean just twisting the ends together? That is best avoided.

    If you're not comfortable with soldering or crimping, get some 15 amp 'choc block' connectors from any electrical parts retailer and strip the ends of each wire long enough to overlap within the connector, so that each screw tightens on both wires.
