While I've never been blown away by the sound quality of this unit, last night I recorded from my DVDRs internal (analogue) tuner by mistake and can't believe how much better the recording sounds.
I obviously lost out on the widescreen picture by doing this. Is the Panasonic box known for a 'dull' sound or is this a generic freeview thing. A simple comparison would be that there is a tone control somewhere in the signal path with the treble turned down. The nicam sound sparkles by comparison and sounds far more 'hi-fi'
I'm pretty happy with the pq on a 42" Panasonic plasma, so any recommendations for a better sounding fv box?
