Hi Guy's,

I am about to purchase a new build property. Currently inside it's still at breeze block level. The builders are happy enough for me to add sound proofing to the walls before the plasterboard goes on. I know nothing about sound proofing but love my home cinema. What do you recommend.

Thanks,

Lee

It's probably too late now but soundproofing keeps the sounds from going through the walls, I have a couple of PDFs from Knauf and Gypsum for best practice for soundproofing walls if you're interested/ that's what you meant?

An example of sound proofing would be to use aluminium channel/ clips on the wall, fill with acoustic slab and then face with 15mm and 12.5mm acoustic plasticboard (soundbloc), isolating the edges with acoustic sealant. But your mileage will vary depending on the walls...
