My Toshiba SD200E is just over three years old. Sound is output to an AV receiver via a good quality coaxial cable.

Since upgrading my receiver there seems to be a crackling/distortion noise, mainly on speech. I've tried listening to the sound through the scart lead using the TV's speakers and the problem is still there, so it is not a fault within the receiver.

Could it be that the Tosh is failing? I don't have any other problems with it; the picture quality is as good as ever and there are no sound drop-outs.

    Any suggestions?
