I've been running a Panny 210 for some time with the sound looping through my Panny TV, using the TV audio connectors to my amplifier. This way all HDMI sources can share a common connection to the amp. I've not been that impressed by the sound, so decided to connect the 210 directly to the amplifier using the analogue connectors. Improvement in sound was immense. Great I thought, and changed disc - then silence. Dark Knight, Casino Royale, lots of regular titles no sound at all. Then put in Where Eagles Dare and I get perfect sound again. Sometimes I'll get audio at the start (e.g. when the Warner Bros. logo comes up), then sound will disappear when I get to the disc menu. Firmware is up to date, and my spare 210 in another room has the same problem. Tried every possible combination of settings I can think of, no joy. Some discs have sound, some don't. My older BD65 has no problems at all with a direct audio connection to the amp.

Anyone come across this problem? Thanks, Adam.

I've found that titles for which sound does not output via the analogue connectors, the sound comes on the moment I turn off 24p. The problem also occurs with Region 1 DVDs, toggling the 24p off and on turns the sound on and off on some titles. This may explain why I have no sound problems at all with 1080/60i material. Very odd!
