I've recently rebuilt my PC replacing the motherboard with Asus P8B75-M LE. I find that my Creative Soundblaster Audigy sound card is now giving me serious playback problems with all audio source files. The playback is very badly distorted with loud repetitive crackles. On restarting the PC, playback is OK at first, but when a new file is opened, the crackling is present. Creative support suggest that some process in PC startup may be responsible, but investigation has so far not revealed the culprit. I have disabled the on-board sound, as recommended by Creative support. Does anyone have any experience of this problem and/or any suggestions?

    Many thanks

Just to eliminate things, does the onboard sound have the same problem ?

I presume the sound card is fully seated in its slot ?

Are you using an external decoder, like an AV receiver ?
