Sound problem from Samsung v+hd box to sony dh800

Hi guys

Recently I upgraded virgin, I now have a samsung v+hd running through my Sony dh800 receiver via hdmi. I have set the sound to pass through hdmi on the vbox.
After a month of using it, the volume from my tannoy Sfx has started going up and down by itself when watching virgin. However, listening to music or watching films through the ps3 is fine.
Any thoughts?

Does the volume increase during a programme or perhaps only during adverts? It is not uncommon for the volume to increase during adverts.

There is a cable subforum, try searching there.

No it's when watching a program, it's ok I'm just going to buy an optical cable, they do advise to use optical if connecting to a receiver.
Probably didn't help that I had the sound setting on movie mode on the receiver, should've used multi stereo setting for 2 channel!
Just annoying having to keep changing sound modes for every input device.
