Got a 42" panasonic with toshiba home cinema system on the way.
package includes composite/s video/component video board.
Wanted to check i had everything needed to get sky and dvd working straight away on arrival.

using scart to vga (i think) for sky but my question is will i be able to use the the surround sound system for all inputs to screen as there are no speakers with plasma? All the speakers seem to hook straight into the dvd player so how does that wrok for sound on sky tv?

Apolagies if im being completely stupid - new to this technology

Scart to VGA is the best bet for Sky (I am assuming you have got a scart to VGA converter box). If Sky+ then you can connect the optical digital output to the home cinema system, if it is a non Sky+, Sky box, then red and white audio outs from the converter to the home cinema sytem.

panic over then. thanks for your quick reply. yes its boring normal sky tv
I ordered the scart to VGA from AV sales (£80 1.5m) dont remember anything about a converter box but im sure this the same thing you mention in your thread.
Am i right in saying this would work with xbox plugged into sky box also?

your sky box should have red and white phonos and these can connect direct to Home cinema system analogue input (assuming it has one) SHOULD do

im sure it does. theres a fair range of inputs on it. does that mean the dvd always has to be on when watching plasma?
Are the speakers for the panasonic any good and are they worth the £300?
