Can anyone explain the reason why the sound is so bad on most of the DSP settings ( concert hall, TV theatre, movie theatre etc) on DVD/Sky+ movies? The only one thats anygood is PL II - music.
I set the system up using a Stereo/5.1 set set up CD - and everything is good, infact more than good.
When watching/listening to non5.1 Sky / CD's its great. All the other DSP setting sound so echoey, the ambient sound/music is always clear, its just the "voices" sounds like the actor is in a cupboard.
    thanks

DSP simulates different environments, for example a hall (cool on some music)or a movie theater (on films, if you like the echoes in an big cinema). Turn DSP off if you don't want it. I think "straight" is always best.

You may also find you can change the parameters of the DSP settings (you can on my 750), if you decrease the reverb value you'll remove the echo - but this seems primarily to be what the DSP is doing. I'm not sure what you have left if the reverb is reduced!

I don't use any of 'em...just PLII, Neo, PD and plain stereo modes for TV/music.

Yeh turn the DSP off, if the sound was ment to have reverb (or any other effect) it will already be recorded in :smashin:
