I have a Pioneer 545 DVD player and a Marantz 4200 Amp. I have noticed that
recently when watching films that the sound drops out for a fraction of a
second. It happened about 4 times during Moulin Rouge, but when i checked
the same points in the film later on there was no drop out so it can't be
the disc. Any ideas on what the problem could be?

    Thanks
    Tom

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it could be your player on its way out, this is what mine started to do, then it packed up completely a couple of weeks later. The sound droppped out and then the picture pixellated.

It started with just the sound dropping out.

well if it is the player is only 3 months old so a quick phone call for a new one might be in order....
