I recently installed Windows 98 SE in place of M.E on my system, i currently have no sound and when i try to install the drivers it recognises them as an "unknown device", same when i attempt to install my scanner or webcam, any ideas?

Are you using the 98 drivers instead of the ME drivers?

have you checked that there are no hardware conflicts as 98 was always a pig for conflicts with soudncard irq's

98 and ME drivers are very unlikely to be compatible...

ME is the :censored: child of 98 and seems to be a law unto itself generally..

sounds like you need to install the 98 chipset ( mainboard) drivers...

cant remember what the hell you call the util though...

what PC / motherboard do you have ?
