i have just got a new set of 5.1 speakers and i dont think they are getting the best input, i ca attach my mp3 player to em (a sony NW-HD3) and the sound is far far better than that from my pc even playing the same file! so i figure its time to upgrade my soundcard. what would you reccomend, heres what im looking for:

    -5.1 output
-cheap as possible (less than £80 if possible)
    -good sound quality
    -internal or external

thats about it. at the moment im looking at the audigy range but im not sure which to go for, what would y'all reccomend.

    thanks for any replies.

I don't have one myself but M-Audio cards seem popular for decent quality at a reasonable price.

Are the M-audio Revolution series good enough, or should one move up to the Audiophile series?

Creative Labs have been dominating the mass markt, at least here in my country. I wonder, how do the Revolution compare to the new Audigys.
