    Hi peeps

Probably a daft question but can i connect a stereo amp to my pc sound card (creative labs live) without doing damage to either?

I figured it would be a better solution than buying a mini system as all my cds are on pc as well.

    thx

There should be a stereo analogue output on the back of the card with a mini-jack socket for you to use.
This should work fine, but you may get better results using something other than Windows Media Player to play your CD's...try winamp, with the ASIO plugin to avoid using Windows KMixer which automatically resamples everything to 48Khz....badly.

For better advice than mine, maybe drop Branxx a line....he's the PC Sound expert here!

Yes you can. You may get some hum though, as I did when I first tried it. Ends up being an earth loop and I fixed it by plugging the PC into the same 4-way adapter as the power amp, all fine now!
