Sound bar recommendations

Hi everyone.

I was wondering from everyone what a good sound bar is. I don't know if the television make a difference but I am looking at the Sony KDL-40W705 plus I have a PS4, Xbox One and Wii U.
I don't know about the connection for the bars can I get all three connected?

A lot of low (and high) end soundbars only have an optical (and maybe coax) connection so typically you end up connection to the to optical out. It then depends what the tv supports down that link as to how good the surround sound is. That would assume all your devices then connect to the tv. The othe option is a sound bar with multiple hdmi sockets. You connect your devices to the soundbar and connect to the tv via hdmi arc.

Having a sound bar with multiple HDMI connections for my consoles was what I was originally thinking and then hooking it up to the TV. As long as it gives me a better sound than what the TV gives me, I'll be happy. The sound from these new thin TV's isn't the greatest.
