Im currently price matching the philips 32pf9986 for the benefiit of myself and other customers of john lewis. And having been informed of sound and vision online selling the TV for £2075 (RRP £2995) i gave them a call (as a customer not as an employee) to check on the price. As far as i know it isnt illegal to inquire on prices, and i wasnt rude nor did i mention i was an employee of a rival. I simply stated i was checking the price for my tv, i said i bought it 11 oct ago and i was curious how much they were selling it for. I was practically demanded to state why i needed a price that was ''one and a half months old'' (he couldnt count obviously) And when replied that i had bought the TV from john lewis, and they would match his price, if he could please let me know what it was. He replied firmly, '' NO i wont tell you what it WAS, ill tell you what it is now and thats £2075 THANKYOU VERY MUCH GOODBYE'' - hung up Ive worked in retail and customer service for 5 years, and ive never refused anyone help nor been so rude to anyone needing assistance, even if it is a rival contacting us to beat our prices and not a customer wishing to spend money. That was their lovely customer service line (01204 861 861) if you ever need to be harassed by a dyslexic.
