I recently got a new Digital Surround Amp and found I have to use two separate connections to my VCR/DVD combi :- Analogue for VCR and digital for DVD.
When I get my new Sky+ box installed I am intending to connect it to the amp with a digital connection (optical) but does this mean that I would only get sound from Channels that support Dolby Digital? Or is the Sky+ box clever enough to convert the signal and pipe it all down the optical connection??
I realise I could connect the Phono connections as well as the Optical but then I would have to have two sources on the Amp and switch between them depending on what channel is being watched. IYSWIM
