Sophie and Mrs.Tonkie (RIA)

I think Mrs.Tonkie is feeling sorry for me as she was quite happy to pose for me last night,OK shes not a Kate Moss and with it being her first time I think she has done well, although a little tense. I also think Mrs.Tonkie has had a word with Sophie as she was a little more cooperative than usual:D

well your missus is a lot more co-operative than mine, even if I can see "your gonna pay for this later Mister" written all over her face:);). your daughter seems a lot less camera shy though, Hair over eyes doesn,t bother me at all, I have 3 daughters with "fashion sense" so trying to get them to brush it away is sacrilige, not a critisism as such but the only thing I dont like is the distance between the two faces in the mum and daughter pic, seems a bit distant, mums and daughters should seem closer if you know what I mean. anyway just my lowly observation. Cheers Mike

Nice shots Neil - I can now see where your daughter got her good looks from - I knew it couldn't be you :)

Overall I like the third shot best but agree it does look a little "formal" and getting them closer together would help.

I personally don't like the background colour and think it makes the shots look a little dark - doesn't work well (IMO) with their complections.

Its my good looks that have got me where I am today, which is no where:eek:

Doh!,That was the word I was looking for "Formal" , much better than "distant":lesson:. MIke

I would call it wooden, but we are all learning.

Here's another one

latest one you Have posted is a Much better pic,I Agee with senu, a little crop may improve it a touch. The background colour while not ideal Is easily curable. But the biggest improvement by far is the feeling of closeness between the two which to me is important in parent/child portrait. Mike

nice set of portraits here Neil... Lighting looks good as far as I can tell :D. And the smiles look genuine :rotfl: (maybe other than the first one :D)

I like the last one you uploaded better than the 3rd one. As others said, 3 looks a bit formal :) (but still very nice as a formal shot).

Had a quick look whilst modding and the white balance looks off, they are all quite warm.

I'll return with more constructive stuff later.

They are warm looking but it seems to suit the subject matter
Looking again, maybe its more to do with the background colour as if you look at Sophies dress the whites do look white

Thanks again all for your positive comments, but there has been a few comments regarding the colour of the wall and the fact that it did nothing for their complexions, so this has got me wondering what sort of backdrop should I have.

The shot here is of our curtains, they are a little creased as they are normally tied back, do yo think they would be suitable, sorry Mrs.Tonkie is not in the shot but she had got her weekend chill out gear on
