    Hi, in the market fo a new dvd player after having to make do with a PS2 for the past two years. Which should I go for, the Sony DVPNS705 or ToshibaSD520e? I can get both for about £220 (MR). Going to match it to my Philips PW9527.

    Is SACD more popular than DVD Audio?

    Heard the Tosh has got prog scan on NTSC but how would i connect it to my TV which only has scarts and no component inputs?

    Buy the Sony. It's great.
    What'll become the future standard of digital audio is yet unknown; it's much like the VHS/Betamax battle. I would buy the Sony because it's a great dvd player, and an extraordinary good CD player (for being a DVD-player at core). The SACD feature is merely a bonus, and it'll still take some time before high-frequency multi-channel audio kills the good old CD.
