Hi, my 65 inch arrives next week so looking to get an owners thread going.

Comments on experiences along with picture settings etc.

I will be watching Sky, Netflix, Amazon and Disney + along with watching lots of UHD blu rays and gaming on my Xbox One X and PS4 Pro.

I also own a Panasonic 65GZ2000 so interested to see how this compares.

Please let us know your thoughts as the GZ looks like an picture to me.

I have created a man cave and wanted a tv for this.
I wanted an LCD so I can compare to the GZ2000. Opted for the Sony as I have previously owned the Sony XE9305 in both 55 and 65 inch and it was a fantastic TV.
I looked at the Samsung QLEDs but the lack of Dolby Vision was off putting.
The GZ2000 is stunning and it’s picture blows me away almost daily.
Looking forward to the HDR on the XH9505 and how this compares to the GZ2000.

I loved my XE9305 and still miss it (sad I know). Let me know how this compares as it might bey upgrade next year when the price comes down. As much as I want an OLED our viewing might cause burn in. Samsung have dropped the ball by not having DV as although some DV content can be poor, most is superb.

TV has arrived and in middle of set up as we speak.
How do you find the HDMI enhanced format option in the menus?

Driving me crazy! It is shown in pics attached but I am really struggling to find it for some reason.

I’ve replied in the other thread

Thanks @rob99 now all sorted so much appreciated

Quick session on Last Of Us 2 and looks great and now watching football on Sky which again looks very nice.
Netflix, Amazon and Disney + all working fine and looking good.
Compared to my 65GZ2000 I would so far comment the Sony definitely has more colour and pop but not watched any of my favourite 4K UHD discs yet.

If anyone wants to know anything specific let me know.

Quick update I watched The Force Awakens on Disney + and it looked fantastic in Dolby Vision.
I cannot wait to watch a few 4K discs over the weekend. Thinking a couple of Marvel films, Le Mans Ford V Ferrari, Mad Max and 1917. I know them all well and should really show off the TVs HDR capability and the sound quality too.
A quick comment on the sound and I have to agree with reviewers who have commented positively on the sound quality. I am very impressed and this is someone who has had the pleasure of the GZ2000 for the last 9 months.

Probably a little early to compare fully against my OLED.
I will try and watch a few bits on both over the weekend to compare.

Certainly so far so good though. Having previously owned the Sony XE9305 I would say the XH9505 does very much remind me of that TV.

That's great news! I am seriously considering upgrading to 65" and might push the button on this set next year once it's come down in price.

Wow, this midrange LCD set beats the most expensive & and highly acclaimed OLED TV.

Few pics from yesterday and today. Still no complaints and HDR is very impressive.
Will add more pics as I watch more content over the next few days.

A few more pics. My iPad is not really doing the picture justice in all honesty.
So far I really have no issues to talk of. I cannot say I have seen any light bleed into the black bars in the content I have watched to date.
To me the most possibly the most surprising thing is the quality of the sound which is very very impressive.

Must be a decent TV as even during family Saturday evening viewing of Ninja Warrior she commented how vibrant and colourful the picture was!

What distance are you sitting from yours please? I'm gradually working on the boss to get a 65" set.

I sit approx 5 feet away which is a great distance.

Must say that does look good,on verge of I hope being able to get the 65” at a reduced price due to current oled having a fault along with screen burn despite me looking after it like a baby, whatever I buy won’t be oled again personally for as long as I want to spend at least some time gaming.
Been looking into this Sony or Samsung q90t from 55”-65” at around the £13-1800 mark.
I’m pretty certain I’d love overall picture quality and motion handling of the Sony but would be just a little concerned if blooming into black bars was too obvious when hdr was in full swing,a bit here and there when very bright areas were close to the bars Id be ok with.

Just to add your photos and opinions so far are very useful Simon coming from someone who also owns a top flight oled aswell, thanks for posting

It’s a pleasure to post and hopefully help.
For the Sony to hold its own against the GZ2000 is a massive compliment.
I have not really noticed any major blooming into the black bars in all honesty.
I think to expect none would be unrealistic.
I too looked at the Samsungs but having owned the Sony XE9305 I wanted to go for a Sony as I was confident it would deliver at its price point.
