    Hi All,

    Just spotted this.

www.cheapelectricals.co.uk is now listing the X2500 range, including 46" and 52" versions.

Looks like these are going to be HDMI 1.3.

Normally Cheapelectricals are the first to list new ranges.

Just bought a 52X2000 myself so I am a bit gutted!

If anyone is thinking about a new X series, but can wait a couple of months you may be able to pick up the very latest spec.

    Regards

Hi everyone from a VERY long-time reader and now first time poster! I must say - I am looking to buy an HDTV around May so this is very welcome news! Without wanting to start a whole 'is HDMI 1.3 useless?' debate, does the fact that this TV uses the XYvcc colour gamut mean it can actaully display this colour gamut or is it just a marketing gimmick?

There is a rumour doing the rounds on the Sharp HD1E thread that the USA could get their version of the Sharp HD1E (the D92) as early as next week. Methinks it is time for Sony to start production of their new model or at least announce some good info!

HDMI claims lots of good things.....I always thought it was DVI+Audio, don't recall DVI being limited, suppose the underlying upgrade is better Copyrite protection etc.;)

A poster on the X-series thread said that the X2500 had already been released in the UAE, which is a PAL country so maybe there is hope for an X2500 UK release after all. It will have to be significantly improved however if the Sharp HD1E's specs are anything to go by.

That was me, and I take it back since Alkaizer pointed out that the model is named X200 actually:

Should have checked myself on the Sony website first. Sorry for that.

No problem - we all make mistakes!
I am just curious as to whether the fact that the TV can display the xvYCC colour gamut actually means anything. The perceived benefit of HDMI 1.3 has been beaten to death but does anyone know how useful displaying the xvYCC gamut is?
