Sony X-series Car connection

Standard Member
I've just bought a sony x-series walkman. It comes with an audio output cable. I plugged it in to my car and no sound!
The old ipod nano works fine.

What's going on?

What you think is an output cable is actually an input cable so you can use external devices with the noise reduction system by feeding them through the player. It doesn't come with an output cable - you will need to us a standard one via the earphone socket.
