Not the prettiest IMHO. Shame the top US XBR6 did not morph into W4500, as that IS a hot TV.

you mean the XBR6 design?apart the slim bezel the bottom is ugly

any news when the W4500 will be available in shops? I'm still waiting for the 52W4000 to become available, so if this one is ready in a few weeks I'm cancelling my W4000 order tomorrow.

Do you think the 40W4500 will be better than the actual 40X3500 (or 3000). The X3500 cost actually 1400€ in Germany so similar to the W4500. Do you think I must wait the new W4500 ?

of course it will beat it!already the W4000 is a better choice with better blacks and only motion was a bit better on the X.The W4500 will win it definitely

just looked at the difference between W4000 and they are minimal with the exception of the 100hz technology (and the media stuff, which I'm ignoring for the moment as I want to discuss picture quality).

As the Bravia Engine is the same as in the W4000 (I expect), would anyone know if the 100hz technology is the same as in the X3000 series? Or would there be some kind of improvements on both the BE as well as the 100hz from those older models?

yeah apart the BE2 the 100Hz motionflow is improved with new IB reduction(IB stands for image blur)

hmm maybe a W4000 owner with this can help as the DVB-C tuner is the same

Just got back from a convoluted call to Sony enquiries - an Indian call centre - and was eventually told that the cable tuner is strictly non-uk. :(

Even so, I really fancy this tv, especially with its 100hz motion technology which, to me at least, was the thing missing from the W4000 that stopped it being a top choice.

For europe it definitely has MPEG-4 tuner but seems like sony UK removed it as anyway its not freesat compatible?

Thanks for the info.

That is so annoying. Based on the article linked below, they are doing trials of DVB-T2 (HD over Freeview) in Guildford, which is in MPEG4. Would have really looked forward to testing this. http://www.ukfree.tv/fullstory.php?storyid=1107051390

On a side note, Play TV (the Sony PS3 Tuner addon) will support HD over freeview. This is launched September 19th, so Sony is able to support HD over DVB-T(2) in the UK...

Same here, I thought about getting a 4000 series TV but thought I'd hold off for the 4500 since they have 100hz and this will probably be better for football.
