Sony VW270ES turned itself off, followed by warning light flashing red

Does anyone know why a Sony 270ES would turn itself off during operation, followed by the warning light flashing red continuously? PJ is about 22 months old with c.700 hours of use. Never happened before. I was about 80 minutes into the film. After waiting a minute or so, I turned the PJ back on and was able to watch the film to the end. Nevertheless concerned that it has developed a fault. Grateful for any insight.

possibly overheating? Have you cleaned the filters?

Could be. But how exactly? Does it have a removable dust filter like earlier models (e.g. the VW 85)? My earlier Sony PJs mentioned cleaning it when replacing a lamp, or after 1500 hours, but the 270 manual doesn’t seem to even mention this.

True. Very disappointing lamp life, but not unheard of.
