    Hello all,

Have read through a lot of useful information about the Sony boxes and am interested in getting one.

Was wondering though, does anyone know the difference between the two models - s750 and s760? Visibly they look the same and as far as I can tell both have optical outputs?

Difficult to find any comparisons though.

    Thanks,

    Andy

Some of the 750 models did not have the optical digital audio enabled. No great loss since it doesn't give 5.1 in any case - only stereo or Prologic.

Sony performance isn't brilliant - I've seen reports of indifferent picture quality compared with Amstrad even (yes really) but this is very subjective, of course, so "try before you buy" is my advice.

Bear in mind that Sony no longer manufactures Sky Digiboxes so you'll be buying an obsolete model and service backup may soon be non-existent.

I know this is an old thread, but I have a VTX-S750 and the optical output light is on, so looks like it works,
I'm planning on replacing my old Pro-logic amp and wondering if i'll get Dolby Digital through the Optical connection?

AFAIK DD 5:1 is available only on HD channels.

The premium SD movie channels also have 5.1 I believe
