Has anyone managed to get their mits on one of these little beauties or seen a demo yet? If you've got ANY info please share it with us. In particular, whats the story with contrast? 700:1 is claimed but in reality does it do the business? Also, new hi-res lcd panels, how do they stack up? Basically, is it any good or not?

Got to see one on the Sony stand at the CEDIA Expo in Indy. Externally it is identical to the VW10. Main changes are apparently the much improved contrast ratio, and the fact that the RGBHV inputs now work properly when fed 16:9 images....

First impressions were very favourable, but the stand wasn't exactly blacked out, and Sony were using an HD source - so I have to wait until I have one here in the UK before I can give a definitive judgement.

Still no word on when we will be getting them here - apparently Sony's plan is to sell off as much stock of the VW10 as they can before launching the VW11....

hiya just found some info on the 11ht
im waiting for the price and avalability.
To Buy: £4,500.00 (Exc. VAT)

These prices are recommended prices only. Resellers are free to set their own prices.

The Sony VPL-VW11HT - designed specifically for the home cinema market - succeeds the EISA award winning Sony VPL-VW10HT, and incorporates some of the most advanced projection technology currently available.

The VPL-VW11HT's optical unit has undergone a complete redesign to incorporate newly developed wide screen high-resolution LCD panels and an upgraded lamp. This state-of the-art optical technology enables the high brightness to be maintained at 1000 ANSI Lumen whilst reducing the projector's black level by more than 50 per cent.

In addition, the new lamp can last up to 50% longer, significantly reducing running costs.
Superior picture quality.
As a result of the optical improvements, the Sony VPL-VW11HT delivers a natural image with vivid colours and a more dynamic picture with deep black reproduction.

Specially designed for the Home Theatre environment
The VPL-VW11HT offers an outstanding range of features. An extended airflow and innovative cooling structure reduce fan noise to a minimum. The new air filter dramatically reduces the dust entering the unit.

Ready for DTV and Progressive Scan
The VPL-VW11HT is future ready. New DTV Standards and Progressive scan devices are fully supported. Even Home Theatre PC's are now able to be connected and sent a pixel matched Signal to the 1366x768 high resolution LCD Panel.

    Flexible in Installation
The VPL-VW11HT can be placed on the table or mounted on the ceiling by using the PSS-610 ceiling mount kit.

    Cinema black mode.
If you prefer to watch your movies in a darkened environment, the projector can accommodate you. The lamp's power is reduced and the level of black in the picture is improved.
High Contrast Ratio
All the optical components from VPL-VW11HT has been redesigned to improve the picture quality further compared to VW10HT. The selection of a new lamp, new 16:9 panels and the optical system enables the VPL-VW11HT to reproduce a Contrast Ratio of 700:1 with 1000 ANSI Lumen.

    New lamp
The VPL-VW11HT makes use of a new 200W UHP lamp that improves the optical uniformity and maintains the brightness. In addition, the lamp life is increased by 50% compared to the VPL-VW10HT.

Wide screen (16:9) Computer Signal acceptance
By using a PC with an integrated DVD Player it's now possible to feed the VPL-VW11HT with it's native resolution of 1366 x 768. This type of Signal will be feed directly to the panel driver without any scan conversion.

    New Air Filter (PK-VW11FL)
For the range of LCD Projectors designed for Home use Sony has developed a new Air Filter System. The new Air filter of VPL-VW11HT, (can also be used in VPL-VW10HT) can absorb smaller dust particles and prevent them from getting into the optical unit.

    Cinema black mode
For extra versatility, the VPL-VW11HT allows you to set lamp drive wattage to "normal" (1000 ANSI lumens) or "cinema black" mode (approx. 750 ANSI lumens). The "cinema black" mode provides an elevated black level for viewing film sources. For optimum results, use both modes according to ambient light conditions.
One additional benefit of the Cinema Black mode is that the lifetime of the lamp is doubled (up to 3000 hours).

    Video Memory
The VPL-VW11HT supports 6 Video Memory's to store different projector set-ups for different signal sources or different lightning conditions.
The memories are fully user defined for customised settings of the projector. A Video Memory includes adjustments like Contrast, Brightness, Colour saturation, Sharpness, Dynamic Picture On/Off, Colour Temperature selection and Aspect Ratio setting.
The Video Memory can be selected by the direct keys on the remote control, via the Video Memory Key on the projector (toggle), or by using the on screen Menu.

    Cine Motion
If you are a real fanatic, you will be happy to hear about the Sony Cine Motion. In order to give a better picture quality the Cine Motion automatically detects 24fps originated Signals and improves the picture motion. The result is a film like picture quality. (2-3 pull down for 60Hz / NTSC Video Sources)

    Supplied Accessories
Remote control unit RM-PJVW10
Batteries 2x size AA (R6)
Air Filter
AC power cord
Operating manual
Lens cap

sounds great would be nice to get one close to christamas

I think it is yes and UK spec!

Some guys on here bought the 10ht from them a few months ago, and as far as I know they were very happy with them.

Try doing a Search for the 10ht (if it's working yet!) and see what you can find!

I hope that HCC get their hands on one soon to review, see if those blacks are any better?

Got my 10ht from them for £3,150 but due to credit card conversion charges i get hit for £160 more. Mistersuper refunded £100 as a good will gesture.

Mine has sat in the box since i got it, like the rest of my home cinema as my room isnt ready.
