    SONY VPL-HS1 + DENON DVD 2800 + Pal Progressive

Has anyone got this setup and can recomend it?

I have a VPL-HS1 and I am thinking of getting a DVD2800 to use the projectors Pal Pogressive input, I just aint sure if i will get much of a picture improvement over my Pioneer 606D connected via component connection.

Maybe anyone with a VPL-VW10,11HT and is using the Denon 2800 with Pal Progressive can coment on the improvement if any they have seen.

    Thanks in advance.

I won't get into the pros and cons of progressive but my setup with a 10ht+denon2800 only improves as the picture gets larger IMHO. as I am watching at 130" diag the difference is there but below 110" its not that much difference to interlace, eg progressive Pal allows me a closer sitting to the screen ..hope this helps
    cheers laurie

I now have 2 reason to upgarade to a denon 2800

    1. I am running a 130" screen so PS will make a difference.

    2. The picture quality must be better on the denon than my pioneer which is 4 years old now.

    Thanks Laurie

The de-interlacing capabilities of the 2800 are better than that inside either Sony.

The larger the screen size is relative to where you are sitting the more obvious the artefacts will be. So with a big screen it is always a good idea to get the best signal to the projector in the first place....

    Thanks Gordon,

It sounds like I will be able to make a noticeable difference to my picture quality with this upgrade.

Looking forward to getting the player now.
