I've had a VPL CX1 for about a year. I use it daily to watch Sky and also DVD's with a Skyworth DVD player during which time I've run up 1800 hours on the bulb.
Over the last few weeks I've noticed a vee-shaped blue smudge on the top of the picture in all modes about a foot high.
Could it be that the bulb needs replacing? The lens is clean and I regularly clean the filter too.
    Could anyone help please?

I've since checked all the threads on dust and tried the air duster to no avail. The smudge seems to be getting larger. (Or maybe I'm just so aware of it now). BTW what happens towards the end of a bulb's life? Does it just stop working instantly? (Hopefully not like a domestic light bulb).
