Can anyone tell me please if the CS2 lcd projector from Sony is able to be ceiling mounted?

Does it have problems with macrovision?

Has is got true 16:9 display or does it just cope with a squeezed 16:9 image.

I have 1800 pounds to spend so any other suggestions much appreciated.

well the consensus here seems to be get a Toshiba MT1z (if you can stretch to 2K)
    or a Sanyo PLV30(also about 2k).

personally i would put it on a small shelf
behind my sitting position I use a TV bracket for my projector.
i won the tosh and it is superb but take a look and make up your own mind

Does the Sanyo have true 16:9 like the MT1z?

    cheers,

You could try a second hand Davis DLS8 or 450 if you can find one. They produce excellent pictures when driven by a hcpc.

Don't forget to demo before you buy though.

    Happy hunting. :)

Just a wee point you say that the MT1 does true 16:9. Not quite sure what you mean but it does 16:9 the same way that those DLP's and the Sanyo PLV30 do 16:9. They re-scale the incoming image and display it on a reduced amount of pixels on their 4:3 panels.

The only fixed panel projector which uses it's full panel resolution to re-play 16:9 DVD's properly on, in this country, is currently the Sony VPL10HT. This is because it has 16:9 LCD panels inside.

Just thought I'd clear that up.

In answer to the original question, the vpl-cs2 can NOT be ceiling mounted! A major mistake for SONY I think!!

I still have to hots for the HITACHI cp-s220 myself (just to confuse you more) and I have seen it for 1550 quid +VAT
