    I just recently finally made my mind up on a Sony VGN-FW11E, however I recently noticed the new white macbook got a slight upgrade and with the back to school promotion (where you get a free ipod) and my uni discount, I can get the new white macbook for an excellent price.

    So which one should I go for?

    I realise they are both very different i.e. the sony has a 16.4" screen and the macbook a 13.3" screen but which one would you get?

    Below are the specs for both -

    Macbook

    * Intel Core 2 Duo 2.13 Ghz
    * 2GB DDR2 800mhz Memory
    * 160GB hard drive1
    * NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics
    * Standard keyboard
    * White polycarbonate shell

    Sony Vaio

    CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 (2.26 GHz, 3mb cache)
    RAM: 3 GB
    LCD: Screen - 16.4" TFT 1600 x 900 ( WXGA+ ) - X-black
    HDD: 250GB
    ODD: DVD/RW
    Graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 - 256 MB

    Thanks in advance. :thumbsup:

    Personally I'd go for neither, the sony is too big and I'm allergic to proprietry connectors with expensive adapters so the macbook is out too.

    Why have you picked those two in particular? When you've got ~£600-650 to spend there are loads of interesting laptops out there so working out why you've picked those two should help you decide what your requirements are which will let you pick the right one.
