Sony upscaling?

Like everyone else I have a pretty hefty collection of DVDs, and now that I have a Sony 32v4000 I want something to get the most out of them, so its time for a new player. I am limiting myself to Sony for the sake of using a single controller, and was wondering if there was any difference in upscaling quality between Sonys budget models;

Blu Ray -

Or on the other hand, is the upscaling done by the TV itself on a par, and I'm wasting my time?

Whilst I want a Blu Ray player in the long run, if the cheaper DVD player does a better job of dealing with normal DVDs then thats all I'm worried about.

The Sony DVD player isn't that good tbh. I've tried it and returned it after 30mins...LOL

The toshiba SD580 is much better.

From the 2 players above, better go for the BR esp if you don't have a BR player.

Some people here I've read suggest getting a heap DVD since your TV will eventually do the upscaling/downscaling
