I live in Europe and am thinking of buying a Sony TV.
Probably a FQ75 29". Do PAL Sonys have the same problems as the american?

Where are you in Europe ?

Sony FQ75 model in UK is having problem, most probably due to design flaw as to date Sony UK do not know the cause or cure for the scrolling bar problem. If the set is made in the UK, it is likely to have this problem.

Do the American sets have the same problem ? Where have you heard this ?

    Sweden.

I just assumed this was an American forum so I thought
that it was there Sony had problems with their TVs.

    I'm buying a 4:3 TV with both 50 and 100 hz.
    Hopefully it doesn't have problems.

I'm not sure where our TVs are manufactured.

    Hi

Yeah, this is a forum for UK.

As far I know from members of this forum, the two models having this infamous scrolling bar problem is the FQ and FS windscreen models. Please read my threads on this problem and the up to date situation.

We are now pressuring SOny UK to get off their arses and sort this problem which has been going on since summer of last year.

How about any other models that have known problems?

I am thinking about buying this

Have you heard anything about this perticular model?

    Thanks.

    Hi

Sorry, we don't have this set in the UK. Ours is the KV32FQ75 which is the widescreen 16:9 format, Looks like yours have the same features as the ones sold here.

Sony UK has not found the cause of the problem even though they were aware of this for over 6 months. They only recently taken up this issue after pressure from this forum.
So no one is sure which components inside are giving this problem. Can you return it if you do find the tv has the same problem as those in UK ?? I think that is the best way to find out if the seller agrees to take it back if this happens.

Good luck. Please let us know whether those 4:3 sets over there have the same problem.
